Heard the long vacant building on the corner of Broadway and Roy where
the former Elite bar used to be is being renovated for a new restaurant.
Word is a Chef from "Herb Farm" will call it Poppy's after his grandmother
and will have at least one affordable fixed price plate at $30.
If anyone has any additional news on this, I would love to hear. Much excited.

Re: Restaurant News
Poppy's location is just great news—an exciting development for the neighborhood. (The owner of Harem can give you more detail on the site development; she's staying on top of things, because she is anxious to see the north end of B'way revived, as well.) Cheers to Jerry Traunfeld for his site selection. With Lark and Cafe Presse at the south end (on 12th) and Poppy at the north end of B'way, Capitol Hill is becoming a food lover's paradise.
